Present at the celebration was Bakersfield Mayor Karen Goh, KCHCC Board Members and Diplomats, representatives from the offices of Assemblyman Vince Fong, Assemblyman Rudy Salas, Assemblyman Andy Vidak, plus friends, family and supporters! Melange Boutique is Kern County's first mobile fashion and accessory shop!

KCHCC Kern Energy Academy Graduation Ceremony August 10, 2017 - Elements Venue

Pictured above: Over 50 area students the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Energy Academy were awarded scholarships at Elements Venue in Bakersfield on August 10. The Energy Academy is a joint program by the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Business Education Foundation, Chevron, Bakersfield College, Kern Energy Festival and CIPA. Each graduate received a scholarship for their completion of the program. Also present at the event was KCHCC President/CEO Jay Tamsi, Bakersfield Mayor Karen Goh, representatives from of Chevron, Bakersfield College, Chain Cohn Stiles, the offices of Assemblyman Vince Fong, Senator Andy Vidak, Congressman Kevin McCarthy, Congressman David Valadeo, Assemblyman Rudy Salas, Chamber board members and other program sponsors and supporters. McCusker also updated everyone on the efforts by Cal Water to conform to the new TCP (1,2,3-Trichloropropane) standard being issued by the State.

Congratulations to Norma Rojas-Mora, who was honored for her eight years of service as President of Latina Leaders of Kern County during the 18th annual Latinas Leading The Way Awards and Board Installation at the Bakersfield Marriot on July 15. "Delano's Philippine Weekend celebration dates back to 1975 and was started by local high school and college students. What began as a simple basketball tournament to unite Delano's Filipino community has evolved into a 43 year-old tradition that brings families of all backgrounds together. The entire month-long celebration has been organized by the non-profit, all volunteer group known as Philippine Weekend, Inc. Our events are truly a hometown celebration dedicated to celebrating, preserving, and sharing our Filipino culture and heritage. In the past, our events have drawn thousands of people to Delano to participate in the multi-day celebrations." - courtesy of
