This weekend Kern County, along with the entire San Joaquin Valley Region, entered the State’s new Stay at Home mandate. Regional Stay at Home Orders will require Californians to stay at home as much as possible, close operations for certain sectors and require 100 percent masking and physical distancing in all others.

“This is not where I imagined our county to be, especially during the holiday season,” said Jay Tamsi, co-founder of the Kern County Latino COVID-19 Task Force. “As we maneuver through this new Stay At Home Order, we want to urge our community to continue to get tested, follow the mask and distancing guidelines, and support local businesses as much as possible during the next three weeks. We are in this together and must remain diligent and focused.”
