We are days away from starting a new year, but the goal to effectively heal our community from COVID-19 is still a priority for the Kern County Latino COVID-19 Task Force. This week, the collaborative is offering three FREE testing sites for Kern County residents.
In addition to the FREE testing sites, the collaborative has launched a new mental health and wellness hotline handling a variety of topics such as virtual education classrooms, employment concerns, and general worry about the safety of oneself and the safety our family. “Our community has been through a lot this year,” said Jay Tamsi, co-founder of the Kern County Latino COVID-19 Task Force. “We have truly been through a life changing experience together. We will continue to work toward the health and safety of out community in 2021.”
Tamsi added that the county is still required to meet state guidelines to remain at this stage of being open or to be moved forward. Among the key weekly benchmarks are increased testing results.
