The Kern County Latino COVID-19 Task has announced five FREE COVID-19 testing sites this week for Kern County residents. In addition to the FREE testing sites, the collaborative has launched a new mental health and wellness hotline handling a variety of topics such as virtual education classrooms, employment concerns, and general worry about the safety of oneself and the safety our family.

“This has been a tough year, mentally and emotionally for many people of all ages, and will continue to be difficult during the holiday season,” said Jay Tamsi, co-founder of the Kern County Latino COVID-19 Task Force. “We are in this together and must remain diligent and focused.”

Tamsi added that the county is still required to meet state guidelines to remain at this stage of being open or to be moved forward. Among the key weekly benchmarks are increased testing results.
