East Bakersfield Community Collaborative is a grassroots collaborative made up of residents, business owners, non-profits, churches, law-enforcement personnel and schools working together to improve the East Bakersfield Community. One of the main collaborative events each year is to help provide a Thanksgiving dinner to residents in the community during the Thanksgiving Holiday. From its first year, the event has provided meals to hundreds of residents each year with six hundred meals served last year. Six years ago, the Rotary Club of Bakersfield East provided the funding for all the meals served and has continued its support of the event each year since.

AltaOne Federal Credit Union hosted the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce August Business Mixer at their Member Services Center located at 6501 Ming Avenue.  Over 100 chamber members and guests enjoyed a delicious array of appetizers and refreshments catered by Café Med and All Sound Music provided music.

September is Life Insurance Awareness Month

If you were no longer there to provide for them, would your family be able to keep their home? Could your children attend college? If you answered ‘no’ to either of these questions, it may be time to look at your life insurance coverage.
September has been designated Life Insurance Awareness Month by the Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education (LIFE). The Foundation is encouraging people to examine their life insurance policies to determine if they are adequately protected.
